Dianne Gilchrist Brown, Ed. D., has amassed an educational leadership portfolio that includes extensive experience in K-12 school district administration in the following areas: school reform methodology, contract negotiations and administration, policy , human resource management, strategic planning, data-driven decision making, leadership training, curriculum development, and instructional design. Dianne has served in the following leadership positions: Principal, Assistant to the Superintendent for public relations and external funding, Director of Personnel, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Pupil Personnel Services, Chief Academic Officer, Deputy Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent.
Dianne began her career as an English teacher in a public school system. She also taught at Wagner College and Long Island University. She ended her career in education as a Chief Academic Officer in a 9-12 Charter School, in Southeast, Washington, DC. She is most proud of her efforts to develop an academic program that included social and civic responsibility and pride in self. Additionally, she was responsible for the school becoming certified to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma as well as becoming accredited by Middle States.
Dr. Brown has been an Invited Presenter at the Oxford University Round Table on the Future of Public Education in Oxford, England and participated in the Harvard University Principals’ Center Leadership Institute. She earned Doctor of Education from St. John’s University, N.Y. and an Advanced Certificate in Labor Relations from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, N.Y.
Dianne resides in Maryland with her husband. She has two children and three grandchildren.
